Therapist Overview
My experience is in treating depressive and anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. I also particularly enjoy working with young adults and adults experiencing more complex and severe forms of mental illness (including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other forms of psychosis ). Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a collaborative process in which we’ll work together to identify desired outcomes and create a strategy to achieve these. Our meetings will be structured and targeted toward the resolution of often complex interactions between thoughts and emotions. We will build upon work completed in each session, and will adjust as we increase awareness of effective strategies for response. You will be asked to practice skills learned between sessions, and together we’ll evaluate and adjust these. My intention is to provide assistance and support as we learn from your progress, making adjustments as needed. I will often ask for feedback during this process.
