Therapist Overview
Life is hard and is often so very different from what we imagined it would be. We wrestle day in and day out with disappointment–the sadness that comes from recognizing the gap between reality and how we imagined our lives would look. We lament the gravity of our history and the way it has come between us and our dreams. We suffer the shame of recognizing how our choices have shaped our current situations. We study the wounds we carry as reminders of the pain that has been inflicted upon us. We mourn our weary past and fear the unknown future. After all we’ve been through, how can we expect to hold onto hope for a better tomorrow? My job is to help you rediscover the hope you once had. No one can take away your pain. My goal is to simply earn your trust and have the opportunity tell you, “It’s not your fault, and there’s so much more to you than the burdens you carry.” Counseling is not a magic pill to cure what ails you–it’s hard work that won’t always be easy. But I’m here for you. You do not need to suffer in silence any longer. Life is hard, but do not be deceived into thinking that today and tomorrow need to feel like yesterday (and all the yesterdays before it). Let’s talk about it and discover together your hope for where you’re still going…regardless of where you’ve been.
