Therapist Overview
The people I work with are mostly struggling with their depression, anxiety (including panic attacks), anger or pain often accompanied by other medical conditions and/or history of substance use. They may have conflicted relationship or fear of intimacy with partner, family, friends or co-workers on the job. They are doing their best but struggling to build their lives that are stable, meaningful and enjoyable. They often come when they are facing new challenges of life and feeling overwhelmed; and after having tried helping themselves and having sought out the help from their friends, family and/or other professionals. We would work actively to explore and develop the intimate understanding and awareness regarding the issue you have been struggling with possibly for a long time. It is done in a safe, supportive and collaborative relationship with me. My approach is solution-focused and active engagement with my patient. When intervention is met with obstacles, which is expected, we would again collaboratively engage in the further exploration regarding the long-standing psycho-social patterns that are interfering. You may find yourself in this cyclical process as you gradually recover to move toward the goal of leading increasing satisfying life.
