I started my career working with and teaching children who were not psychologically ready to move from kindergarten to first grade. My love for helping people inspired me to go back to school and pursue a nursing degree. After moving to Connecticut, I worked as a psych nurse at Waterbury Hospital at Merriman Hall for 6 years. This was a locked unit and it was here that I learned all the family therapy methodology. I continued my education with a Masters in Counseling at St. Joseph’s College in Hartford, Connecticut and once graduated, I returned to school to get an advanced degree in therapy. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Restructuring) therapist. My practice focus is trauma based. I did a year’s internship at McCall Foundation, Torrington, CT and subsequently was hired as an alcohol-drug
