Therapist Overview
Intelligent. Holistic. CBT is the foundation of my practice. Intelligent because it is evidence based and universal. Holistic because it incorporates the western medical model and the eastern spiritual model of health. I deeply respect and consider your entire, unique landscape. Using CBT you begin to understand your own mind, and how to use this gentle, step-by-step way out of suffering. You no longer believe everything you think. You notice you are not your thoughts. I offer expert CBT psycho-educational consultations, single sessions, and long term therapy. I also offer “walking & talking” therapy in Hope Woods. Reassuring. Simple. Reassuring because it works. Simple because it is easy to understand. I use the techniques of Aaron T. Beck, MD (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Byron Katie (The Work). I have a PhD from Yale University, MA from Columbia University and LCSW from University of Maine. I have both inpatient and outpatient experience. Family Therapy, Climate Anxiety, Confidence is a Verb, Adulting, Spirituality, Living with Aspergers, Food and Mood, Learning Differences, Pain Management, Movement, Conscious Uncoupling/Divorce, Grief (including Pet loss), Wealth Psychology, Empty Nest, Aging, Death/Dying. These are some of the areas of life experience that I also work with in my practice.
