Therapist Overview
All too often, we find ourselves losing sight of who we were or who we want to be. Not only are we NOT moving in the direction we want to, we start moving in the opposite direction, toward guilt, fear, suffering, and broken patterns that now seem to make things worse. Sometimes things start with a major change, or other times it’s a nagging issue you finally felt prepared to tackle. Maybe somebody else suggested you look for help. Whatever the problem may be that has you seeking help, I hope we can work together to figure out where things went wrong. Therapy starts as a way to stop the suffering, and leads back to rediscovering meaning in life. I use cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and existential therapies, suited to your goals. I have experience working with adolescents and adults, particularly dealing with life transitions, anxiety, depression, problematic drug use, and a variety of other issues. My approach to therapy is largely relational, and I aim to be affirming of all identities. Getting started is often the hardest part. If you have any hesitation, give me a call and we can see what is in your best interests. I hope you will find that there is no judgement here, and are comfortable enough to “test the waters” before committing to anything.
