I practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which addresses problems that result from intense emotions. All people lack some skills to regulate, tolerate, and communicate emotions– my job is to help you identify your skills gaps and learn new, more helpful ways of responding to emotions. I believe that clients come to therapy when problems have become overwhelming. Thus, therapy with me is not just a supportive place to be heard (though that’s part of it!). It is a process of learning and relearning thoughts and behaviors to get un-stuck and feel more in control of our lives and choices. My primary area of interest is working with queer clients, particularly at the intersections of queerness, spirituality and religion, and family. I also enjoy working with issues around ADHD, sexuality, and relationship conflict. I work with both individuals and couples and have experience with a wide range of concerns.
