Therapist Overview
I work best with adult clients who feel stuck but still want to build more self-confidence, more inner peace, and harmonious relationships. I enjoy helping people trust in themselves and in their decisions. I seem to work best with folks who are smart, even intellectual, spiritual but not religious. Some have been minorities (e.g., immigrants, GLBTQ+, etc.). Many have been Progressive. Most have struggled with anxiety and depression. All have proven themselves remarkably resilient. I practice Internal Family Systems (IFS) teletherapy in a time-limited format (i.e., eight sessions). I find IFS works well online and most clients find it fun and interesting. I keep to eight sessions, because statistically most clients see the most improvement in the first eight sessions. Having a clear end-date also focuses the work, improving outcomes. In my spare time, I enjoy finding new ways to avoid washing dishes, debating whether to get a doctorate, pining to play Dungeons & Dragons, and very occasionally jogging around my neighborhood, where I live with my beloved wife, Meghan, and our fur-baby–a seventy-pound pit-mix, named Dover.
