Therapist Overview
My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, trusting, and nonjudgmental environment where we can discuss the issues most important to you. Together we will work on discovering the challenges that are getting in your way from achieving your personal goals while finding the most effective tools to address your individual needs and make lasting change. I have experience working with children, adolescents and families struggling with diagnoses of anxiety, depression, autism, and ADHD. I have worked in schools, community action programs, and agency settings. I have also been involved with Early Intervention programs and feel passionate about helping families struggling with caring for special needs children. I am a New York State licensed therapist with a Master of Social Work degree from Boston University. I use an eclectic approach to therapy with an emphasis on solution-focused, evidence-based therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and an advanced CBT approach created by Dr. David Burns, called TEAM-CBT.
