Therapist Overview
Over the past 14-years I have had the privilege of working to help youth, families, and adults suffering from symptoms of anxiety, behavioral problems, depression, dissociation, grief, relationship problems, and trauma. All the clients I have worked with have several things in common: social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems that lead to an impairment in their ability to function and to suffering; a desire to reduce their experiences of suffering; the courage to share their personal stories in therapy; and a willingness to try something different. I encourage clients to tell their story and collaborate with them in the co-creation of more preferred and less problem saturated personal narratives. Mindfulness skills (e.g. paying attention in the present moment, non-judgmentally, with acceptance and kindness), emotional regulation, and relationship skills are integrated into the therapeutic process. In life, painful experiences are inevitable, but sometimes suffering is optional. If you are suffering, I encourage you to reach out for help. I offer my knowledge, experience, and training in order to support and collaborate with you in your process of change, increasing your ability to function, and reducing your experience of suffering.
