Life can be hard. Whether we are facing stress, adversity, loss of a loved one, confusion within a relationship, anger, communication breakdown or betrayal within a marriage, strains from the reality of parenting, confusion of life as a teen, feeling lost or figuring out our place in the world. Gracious- it’s a lot!! Brene Brown has a wonderful quote that says “loving ourselves through the process of owning our stories is the bravest thing we will ever do.” I agree but find that often, we aren’t quite sure how to love ourselves. How do we own our story? My belief is that counseling provides the space to allow self love, acceptance, thriving and living a whole and intentional life. Counseling is not designed just for the weak moments. It has benefits for everyone and in my belief, is for the brave who truly want to own their story.
