Therapist Overview
For 40 years now, I’ve been doing psychotherapy with adults — individuals and couples. I treat people with problems in living — like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of assertiveness, and difficulties in relationships–or in crises, like divorce or bereavement. I also treat people with substance abuse/addiction, and their families and friends. I approach each person uniquely, trying to tailor the treatment to the person’s unique preferences and needs. It’s very important for the client to feel comfortable and understood. I always encourage people to tell me when I’ve made a mistake, or misunderstood, or seem not to be getting it. I’m active in conversations–not silent or passive. Conversations are informal and down-to-earth, sometimes funny. Most people feel comfortable with me, even when talking about things they have never talked about with anyone before. Please call if you have any questions.
