Julie Trim

Hello! I specialize in eating disorders (EDs), PTSD, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety and mood disorders, and emotion dysregulation. I served as Director of the UCSD Adult Eating Disorders program for 11+ years, where I held a faculty position in the Psychiatry Department. As a scientist-practitioner, I use treatments that have proven efficacy whenever possible and feel a commitment to stay abreast of the latest research in the field. I also love training and mentoring therapists early in their careers. Over the past 10 years, I have been the primary supervisor for 2-5 psychology trainees each year. I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and am proud to provide “comprehensive DBT,” which includes individual DBT, DBT skills groups, and phone coaching. For clients who benefit from support and accountability with meals, I also meal support at Gravity Heights, a very chic (and yummy) restaurant next to my office. While we seek to savor the goodness in life, it’s not always easy. There are so many stressors that we face in today’s world, so many competing demands. Things that you used to do easily may now be hard, or things others do easily may feel impossible. Whether it’s a long-standing problem or a bump in the road, getting professional help can be life-changing.
