Therapist Overview
I work with adults, couples, families, and teens to untangle their problems, cope with emotional pain, and live more authentically. I believe that understanding a person’s relationships with others, both historically and currently, is central to the process of change. This means that we’ll spend time together talking about current, everyday stressors and dilemmas but we’ll also look to identify patterns and dynamics that seem to have an ongoing influence in your life. My approach to psychotherapy is interactive. I strive to develop a relationship with each client that is unique, collaborative, and takes place in an atmosphere of openness, safety, honesty and curiosity. I have advanced training in working with relationship conflicts and sexual issues (porn use, sexual compulsivity, low desire, sexual abuse, and LGBT issues). As the director of the Human Sexuality certificate program at Southwestern College, I have an ongoing interest in teaching and supervising.
