Therapist Overview
I work with clients who want to be more effective at meeting life’s challenges. I see people facing grief and loss, who are in the midst of life transitions. I prefer to work with individuals, primarily adults, including elders, and teenagers. I practice person to person therapy. I believe that each of us has the capacity to heal and that we can be helped to use our inner resources and strengthen the relationships we have with others in the service of being the best person we can be. I respect and honor all spiritual orientations and religious practice. I have experience with members of the LGBT community. I use evidence-based practice, including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Reflective Listening, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and somatic processing therapies such as Hakomi and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, for trauma and attachment repair. I encourage the practice of mindfulness. The methods I use have been proven in clinical practice to be effective. I offer a collaborative partnership to support my clients to make transformational change. By the time therapy ends, my client will know how to be present and effective in the here and now, while continuing to learn from past experiences and relationships. The more we know and accept about ourselves, the more we can accept and love and be loved by others.
