Therapist Overview
Before moving into private practice, I provided counseling in diverse settings, such as Bay Area Community Services, to people facing highly adverse situations, and to people in crisis. As Lead Clinician at Fremont Hospitalās psychiatric unit, I worked with patients and their families to overcome the challenges of severe mental illness, and trauma, and was responsible for auditing the work of other clinicians. I held similar positions at Sutter Health, where I worked with patients and families facing a terminal illness and end-of-life. I base my work on humanistic, client-centered psychotherapy, often using cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches. I’ve had a special interest over many years in menās psychology. I believe in the success and positive change one can accomplish with guidance and support from another, partly because of my own, highly successful experiences in therapy.
