Therapist Overview
***Currently, I am not accepting new patients. As an art therapist, my approach to psychotherapy is creative and depth-oriented. Art making and the creative process guide the exploration of presenting and underlying conflicts, symptoms, and feelings of dis-ease. Sometimes, explaining the hurt we are experiencing can be too difficult to put into words. Giving visual form to feelings, thoughts, and behaviors can facilitate the discovery of insights, self-awareness, and the strengths that can lead to healing and restoration of well-being. Art therapy and counseling clinical supervision is a specialty service. Creative and depth-oriented approach to supervision encourages supervisees to look introspectively to explore clinical cases, confront insecurities, illuminate transference and countertransference, and encourage connection with one’s creativity. Residency requirements of VA are followed. My job is to provide a safe place to build a trusting therapeutic relationship so that you feel comfortable sharing the inner-most aspects of your life. Having experience using art materials is not important. Whether you are seeking therapy or clinical supervision in VA, openness to accessing your own creativity will be an important part of our journey.
