Therapist Overview

***Limited evening a weekend availability**** I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides therapy to individuals and couples throughout Northern Virginia.  My services are provided face-to-face at my office in Old Town Alexandria.  I conduct therapy through a mindfulness approach, utilizing strength-based, cognitive behavioral therapy. Born and raised in San Diego, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University.   I have worked in various settings including my work with at risk youth and their families, working as a clinical counselor with the Navy, working as a Clinician at Hazelden Betty Ford and Sharp Healthcare, and as a Program Therapist at Inova.    With almost fifteen years in the field I have adopted a unique therapeutic approach that focuses on my client’s strengths and incorporates a mindfulness approach that empowers my clients to overcome life’s obstacles and challenges in order to live a more fulfilling, enriched life.
