Amanda Roberts Emdr Therapy

I studied psychology at Harvard University, received my BA from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters in Marriage, Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. This program married traditional Western empirical training with Eastern psychology and religion. I bring thirty-four years of deep clinical experience, having worked in diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, community mental health and crisis services. A substantial portion of my clinical training was at Stanford University. I have used EMDR extensively for twenty-two years and am trained in the use of hypnosis. I am first and foremost a trauma therapist working with psychological and medical trauma but have a wide skill set and experience working with many difficulties. I am an EMDRIA Consultant and an EMDR trainer in recent traumatic experiences nationally and internationally. It takes courage to begin therapy. I will create a safe, trusting and affirming space for you. We will focus on building your strengths and resiliency and giving you the tools to facilitate change. I believe the foundation of all good psychotherapy is grounded in the quality of the therapeutic relationship borne on respect and compassion for your situation.
