Therapist Overview
I focus on developing caring and authentic relationships with my clients, because no one should have to go through difficult times alone. Therapy is a place to explore how our past experiences influence our perceptions of ourselves and the world around us. Through collaborative conversations, we will figure out new ways of interacting with the stressors in your life. My approach to therapy combines cognitive techniques while working primarily from a Relational-Cultural foundation. I enjoy working with clients who have a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-injury, Bipolar Disorder, family/childhood/relationship trauma, and LGBTQIA+ identity concerns. I also specialize in working with clients who experience intense, overwhelming emotions that feel out of control. Often, these emotions are triggered by feeling misunderstood, rejected, left out, angry, or ashamed. In counseling we will work together to build skills to ground yourself when overwhelmed, and move forward
