Therapist Overview
In my psychotherapy practice I use supportive and insight-focused approaches, together with techniques derived from cognitive behavioral therapy with the goal of helping people find their own sense of agency. My most fundamental assumption is that people are always trying to overcome the psychological obstacles that interfere with their happiness and that the therapist’s job is to help identify those obstacles and suggest better ways to cope with them. I work with adult individuals and couples and have specialized training in both chemical dependency and relationship issues. I have helped people with depression, anxiety, career and work, marriage, dating and divorce. The key thing is that therapy is itself a relationship: a temporary one that you can use to learn how to improve the more permanent relationships at the center of your life.
