Therapist Overview
We often go through life with blinders on, forging ahead to the next milestone, until something happens that throws us off kilter. Sometimes it is loss – loss of a job, loved one, or sense of self. Sometimes these road bumps come from new additions – birth, adoption, new relationships, career opportunities. I view these road bumps as opportunities to learn more about yourself: your values, desires, capabilities, and most of all, your resilience. While I have experience with many different mental health challenges, I am particularly interested the transition to parenthood and perinatal mood disorders (men and women), and the challenges these can create in families and relationships. My practice is trauma informed and LGBTQIA affirming. I believe in meeting you where you are and working together to get you where you want to be. Everyone has strengths and abilities that make you uniquely you. It starts with taking a good look at yourself. You are not alone. “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” –Khalil Gibran
