I am a graduate of Tulane University School of Social Work’s MSW and PhD programs. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania and Colorado and hold a certification in gerontological social work. I have over 30 years of experience in both social work practice and teaching social work at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, earning the distinction of Professor Emerita. I have also served as faculty for UCLA’s California Geriatric Education Center and have provided clinical supervision to masters’ level social work students for over 20 years in a variety of practice settings. My specialty is geriatric social work, and I have worked with older adults in many different settings. I have also done end of life treatment that integrates crisis, existential, developmental, and grief techniques. I use narrative and oral history approaches with the belief that everyone has a unique, personal story.
