Therapist Overview
Life changes. Some life changes can be anticipated or predicted; some occur spontaneously, without notice or warning. Regardless of how they occur, all require adaptation and adjustment to what is different or new. We seldom have much difficulty with small changes—those that don’t disrupt a familiar lifestyle or a solid sense of self. Other life changes can be more challenging, sometimes making navigation from the present uncertain, frightening, and maybe even overwhelming. The counseling process can promote successful transitioning and significant personal growth in the course of life changes. It’s important that you feel accepted for who you are and where you are in your life when you’re with me—able to express your thoughts and feelings candidly, without fear of judgment. I will be compassionate and thoughtful while challenging and encouraging you to do what it takes to be the person you want to be, and to live the life you want to live. You bring you. I’ll bring me. And together, we’ll address what is bothersome, distressful, or even downright heartbreaking. If trauma, a life transition, a personal or relationship crisis, a loss, or difficulties with depression or anxiety is causing you to struggle with functioning in a happy and healthy way, let’s talk. Life changes; so do we.
