Therapist Overview
I view therapy as a journey that both client and therapist embark on together towards increased understanding, empowerment and healing. Whether this is your first therapeutic journey or one of many, I believe you are the expert of your own experience. Your wisdom coupled with my clinical expertise, provide the foundation for a healing connection in a therapeutic setting. I work both with individuals with diagnosable symptoms (e.g. depression, anxiety, bereavement, etc.) and less concrete emotional struggles (e.g. relational difficulties, identity exploration, life transitions, body image, etc.). As a Relational Cultural Therapist (RCT), I believe the connections and disconnections faced in daily interactions profoundly impact how we experience the world. I view identities such as race, sexual orientation, social class, gender, religion, ability, and body size (among others) and their intersections as an important part of the context of our lives. I aim to be genuine and authentic in my work and see myself as an active partner in the journey towards healing. I believe strongly in the importance of a good therapeutic fit and therefore offer a free phone consultation where we can discuss what our work together might look like, and whether this is the right therapeutic connection for you.
