Therapist Overview
I am an LPC with a specialization in family systems theory. I have worked with a variety of populations across the life span, but the majority of my work has been with young adults (college age) and adults. I am very rooted in family system and interpersonal theory but pull techniques from a variety of other theories as appropriate for individual clients and their presenting problems. For example, I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to name a few. I have experience working in an intensive behavioral health outpatient program where we taught a wide range of effective coping skills to help with everything from day to day stress management to anxiety and depression, so I have these tools to share when working with you. My core belief is that the therapeutic relationship is healing itself and must be built on trust and authenticity. Without that, the rest is not effective.
