One of my areas of focus is infidelity. Even though the discovery of an affair can be devastating, it doesn’t necessarily mean your marriage is over. Each affair has it’s own reasons and meanings. But almost always, the avoidance of certain painful thoughts and feelings keep things from getting better. I often hear that I’m easy to open up to, even about things that might feel embarrassing or shameful to admit. Working through difficult feelings as a couple can sound anxiety provoking. But more often than not it turns into an intimate experience that strengthens and deepens the relationship.
