Therapist Overview
As a queer nonbinary/transgender woman and a survivor, I know how hard it can be to seek desperately needed help, only to be made unwelcome by the very professionals we trust to provide that help. I always strive to meet my clients with openness, respect, and compassion. I believe that therapy should provide a safer space to explore your values and strengths, gain insight into your struggles, and learn new skills for healing, transformation, and liberation. Prior to being a therapist, I worked with LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, sex workers, and people living with HIV as a resource advocate for 10 years. Iām also passionate about helping clients navigate gender identity, consensual nonmonogamy, and activist burnout, and supporting people healing from abuse, complex trauma, or overwhelming emotions. I draw from Relational-Cultural Therapy, a feminist approach which sees our social context, internalized beliefs about ourselves, and need for connection to others as central to understanding emotional distress and the therapuetic process. I want to help you build healthier relationships and move toward mental wellness ā whatever that means to you.
