Therapist Overview
Have you been told that you need to work harder or be more committed to therapy in order to make progress? That if you would just not be ‘resistant’, then you would make progress? I believe that if you’re faithfully going to therapy and not making progress, it’s very likely that you’re working on the wrong thing. Instead of figuring out and addressing the root of the problem, you’re likely trying to deal with the symptoms of the problem. Like treating cough and congestion when you really should be dealing with the pneumonia that’s causing those issues. I specialize in treating trauma… things that have happened to you that shouldn’t have happened. As a result of trauma, our way of thinking and behaving changes in order to protect us. Unfortunately, those changes are often things we don’t like. Since 2008, I’ve been helping clients figure out and resolve the trauma that is at the root of their problems. If you’re tired of trying to make changes to your thinking or behaviors that don’t seem to stick, give me and call and let’s see about looking into what’s at the root of the problem. Stop treating the symptoms and start making changes.
