Therapist Overview
(not taking new clients) When you are ready to seek professional support it is important to find a place that is safe and focused on healing. I strive to provide such a place to help my clients uncover experiences from their past and unexplored aspects of themselves that are affecting their current emotions, thoughts, and actions. We can work together to help you develop skills that will enhance your self-awareness, compassion, mindfulness, healthy relationships and coping. Areas of therapeutic focus for me are anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, transitions, aging, relationship issues, loss and grief, and health-related challenges. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington with a Master’s Degree from Antioch University. My Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is from University of Illinois. My years as a registered nurse and in community mental health have helped me understand the importance of integrated wellness in body, mind and spirit. My theoretical approach is eclectic and rooted in psychodynamic therapy. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, and other approaches. I draw from different theories and philosophies to find what is most helpful for each individual client.
