I work with children, adolescents, and families. My orientation is predominately psychodynamic. However, I tailor my approach to the individual needs of the client. In my work with children, I take a child-centered approach, using modalities such as play or talk therapy to help the child express his or her feelings and experiences that are often difficult to put into words. I work collaboratively with caregivers to help them better understand the complex underlying dynamics that often make their child’s needs difficult to discern. I help caregivers to explore, reflect, and understand subtle misattunements that might be occurring and help them to build and strengthen their confidence implementing effective parenting strategies. When working with adolescents, I strive to help clients navigate life’s complexities through exploration, reflection, and understanding. I work collaboratively with client’s helping them to understand the impact past experiences have on current circumstances
