Substance Abuse Counselor at Renewing Families, LLC (about 7 years) Assess adults and children for mental health/substance abuse status to specify level of care needed for stability in work, home and school. Conduct Comprehensive Clinical and Diagnostic Assessments as needed to identify issues to be addressed. Refer consumers’ for Psychiatric evaluation for Medication Management and other medical services as needed. Provide DWI assessments and Substance Abuse education classes, Substance Abuse Intensive Out Patient treatment, and coming soon TF-CBT assessments and counseling. I specialize in teaching coping skills that will increase the quality of life and relationships by reducing the use of substances to manage and control life’s stressors, anxiety, depression; while learning to relax, enjoy life and nurturing yourself and your goals through solution focused, strength based and cognitive behavior therapy.
