Therapist Overview
I believe in creating a relaxed, responsive, collaborative and supportive environment in order to explore your concerns. I enjoy helping children, pre-adolescents and teens navigate the social and emotional challenges of today’s world. I also work with adults struggling with anxiety and depression, disordered eating and body image issues, self-esteem, trauma and relationship issues. I use a strength-based, client-centered approach to uncover the underlying source of the issues, and to identify triggers that can lead to troubling thoughts and behaviors. I received my degree from Columbia University where I studied evidence-based therapeutic methods including relational psychotherapy and Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT). I also incorporate Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR] into my practice to reinforce the connection between thoughts and emotion. I am also on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital where I provide clinical services to medical students, faculty and staff throughout Manhattan.
