I began counseling after 20+ years in business. My son’s addiction struggles changed my career path, and I ran a parenting nonprofit for 10 years. Addiction experts helped me understand the development of my son’s addiction and introduced me to best practices to heal addicts and families. One discovery in this journey is that addiction isn’t limited to substances such as drugs and alcohol. Otherwise healthy behaviors can be addictive when they become compulsive, such as sex, eating, exercise, and gambling. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), giving me specialized training in process addictions. Addictions come in all shapes and sizes and behaviors can become addictive when they become compulsive and interfere with normal life. Sex and porn addiction statistics have exploded in the last 10 years, and I have been trained as a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) to serve this population.
