Therapist Overview
I’m currently not accepting new clients. If I were, I work well with teens, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and issues of identity. Most of my patients have significant trauma histories and have a pressing need to build safety into their daily lives–before we can excel in anything, we must all first feel safe and secure. We work on establishing that safety first by building our relationship and trust. My patients comment on how great it feels to actually be able to feel safe and relaxed around me and I’ve been known to be down to earth and not afraid to introduce humor in my sessions. I draw heavily from Carl Rogers’ Humanistic Therapy, where empathy, genuiness, and unconditional positive regard facilitate the development of a therapeutic relationship that allows clients the space and security they need to take chances and grow as individuals. As a veteran, I am no stranger to fear and understand how anxiety and depression can feel like someone is
