Therapist Overview
Kids and teens often face unique struggles that must be uniquely approached. As a specialized youth therapist, I recognize that academic stress, self-esteem, self-harm, depression/anxiety, and behavioral issues impact youth and their families in unique ways. I am here to partner with you and your child to better understand and address the underlying causes of your child or teen’s struggles. I blend interpersonal, affirmative, developmental and expressive therapeutic approaches to meet your child where they’re at and help create change. I enjoy working with concerns including academic pressure/underperformance, family/peer conflict, social media misuse, grief, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ issues. In kids and teens, such stressors often appear as the following behaviors; self-harm, suicidality, mood instability, risk-taking, withdrawal, talking back, rule-breaking, tantrums, and excessive worry. Parenting a struggling child can be confusing, tiring, and worrisome; I am experienced and here to help! I will support your child to use innate strengths in addition to new therapy skills to foster resilience, improve communication, create healthy behaviors, and build confidence in their sense of self. I am person-centered, flexible, direct, and passionate.
