Therapist Overview
I believe therapy is the collaborative exploration, identification and integration of one’s past, present and future. Most of us can admit that we find ourselves practicing things we wish we wouldn’t, or the opposite in which we can’t get ourselves to do/feel/think the way we deeply desire. This is due to unconscious processes that drive automatic reactions. Specifically, our bank of lived experiences informs and assigns meaning to the way we live and related to others. Therapy involves the reprocessing of our experiences to compose a more integrated and healthy self. In order to arrive at a better understanding of ourselves and others, I implement aspects of EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Jungian interventions and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have worked with adolescents and adults, both in individual and group settings with concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, compulsive behaviors, and relational concerns. I focus on creating a safe space, filled with trust and relatability. I view the client, therapist and intervention as three strands of a braid that meet to create a new presence upon which the movements of healing occur. I am continually filled with reverence and gratitude for the individual that enters therapy and I commit to their growth wholeheartedly.
