Growing up, I always knew that I was different. Intuitive, creative, sensitive and emotional, I knew that I didn’t fit the mold I was given but I could not understand why. As a therapist, I work with others who feel that they do not fit – those of use who have felt discomfort in ourselves, discomfort in our families, discomfort in our communities. I believe that in order to truly understand who we are and who we want to become, we must explore the experiences that we’ve had and look at the impact they have had on us. Once we understand what we have to work with, we are free to chose the best ways to move forward on the journey. I work with clients trying to better understand themselves and how they fit into their world. My professional experience has focused on questions of gender and sexuality, identity, trauma and abuse, and working with parents and families of gender-creative children.
