Therapist Overview
Tara Brach speaks of being a bird with two wings. Often my thoughts turn to this when describing how I work. As a mindfulness-based and contemplative psychodynamic psychologist, I seek to help others find ways to gently turn toward their suffering, cultivating the capacity to hold that which is unpleasant in one hand, and that which is pleasant in the other. As the saying goes, “Suffering is optional.” I specialize in treating Veterans, first responders, complex health/mental health issues, and issues of connection/relationship. I am also skilled in helping those who suffer from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Issues affecting creative professionals/personalites are of expertise and interest, as are issues which arise in adoption — I parent a child who was adopted. Present Center for Mindfulness and Healing is actively involved in making Delaware the First Mindful State (Google:GIFT). To see how I work, watch YouTube entitled “About Face”.
