Relationship is the most healing aspect of the counseling process. So that is the first thing we need to talk about. Do we click? Do you feel like you can talk to me about your sadness, your anger, your fear? I take an integrative approach to therapy with a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavioral Neuroscience and a Master of Science degree in Counseling. I like thinking about what might be happening in the brain that is contributing to the current behavior and asking the question “what can we do to shift the behavior”. I like using stories, myths, and metaphors. Understanding a metaphor requires more areas of our brain to be engaged. Engaging more of our brain allows us to approach problems more holistically. We will explore ways to look at your story, to see it from different perspectives and find metaphors that have meaning for you.
