There’s an old picture hanging in my office of a woman dressed in a white and blue cover up sitting with her legs crossed. She’s wearing an expression I’ve seen many times before. If she could talk she would say, “I don’t want to be here talking to you. You don’t know me and I don’t know you. I know what you do, you get me to talk, you have a plan for me but I have a better plan for you. I won’t tell you anything of note, and soon you’ll tire of me and I’ll be in the same boat.” During my many years in shelters and private practice I’ve worked with hundreds of these cases with much success. Much of my focus is spent on “Impossible Cases”. I’m looking for those who have not yet had success with talk therapy. Together we develop a partnership that is based on your needs, goals, and your pace. Therapy is about you. As your therapist my job is to create an environment that helps you discover and heal yourself. I do this by developing a therapeutic relationship
