The process of counseling is unlike any other. It can be a transformative experience from which I believe everyone can benefit. I work from a developmental standpoint, matching interventions to clients’ developmental level and needs. I use play therapy for young children, activity therapy for older children (tweens), and talk therapy or expressive arts therapy for teens, adults, and couples. I bring two unique aspects to my counseling services: I utilize expressive arts and interpersonal neurobiology. Expressive arts is a modality geared towards discovering deeper aspects of yourself that may be difficult to access through verbal means. Interpersonal Neurobiology uses neuroscience in counseling. Through engaging in a new form of relating, geared towards changing brain functioning, clients’ brains respond differently and create long lasting results.
