Therapist Overview
[**My practice is full at the moment so I am not taking new clients.**] Much of the work of any talk therapy is trying to do things differently. Which is hard work! And often long-term work. I specialize in working with young and middle-aged adults with longstanding difficulties, including chronic depression and anxiety, feelings of emptiness, loneliness, and impulsivity. The people I work with struggle in their interpersonal relationships and many have histories of trauma. Their challenges did not begin overnight and will not end overnight. I provide psychoanalytic (also called psychodynamic) therapy in my practice. This type of therapy endeavors to help people better understand themselves and the self-defeating patterns they find themselves stuck in. My style is candid and direct. I am not a believer in quick fixes and easy answers. And I generally take a long game view of therapy. My aim is to be your ally and consultant as you work to make changes in your life that won’t just make you feel better today but will change your life in the years to come.
