Therapist Overview
If you’re struggling with depression or anxiety, I am a warm, empathetic counselor who loves working with people who are looking to change but don’t know how. I love helping my clients flourish in a safe environment that is accepting and nurturing, and that is what I try to create in my therapy sessions. I work well with people who want to find out who they are and dig deep into the process of therapy. Conversely, I also like to focus on practical approaches that will help you feel unstuck and get you back on track. I love working with the LGBTQ+ community and have experience and expertise working with teens and young adults. My two main theoretical approaches are psychodynamic and brief counseling; I think it can be helpful to look at the roots of problems and how they are impacting your life, and to look for ways to help you through immediate difficulties. I have extensive training in CBT and enjoy working in an existential model as well. I have an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle and a BS in Sociology from the University of Chicago. I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and a member of the American Counseling Association. I am currently accepting new clients on Sundays thru Wednesdays.
