Therapist Overview
Feeling stuck? Wishing for change? Fear of the future? We go through struggles that test our ability to find joy and experience pleasure. It is often our relationships with friends, family and especially our partners that take the brunt of these taxing times. It is common that our intimate relationships get tagged as the reason for our hurt and pain or are the most negatively impacted. Blame can drive a wedge and damage intimacy. Ironically, it is within our intimate relationships that we find the majority of our most meaningful experiences. Experiences that result in feeling that joy and pleasure we so desperately desire. I don’t believe that therapy needs to be long-term. In fact I view it as a tool of support to be used throughout ones life during challenging times, transitions or when feeling stuck. Motivational Interviewing is a method that is simply providing acceptance to the client for who they are, where they are, how they got there and make a plan for the future. It is my hope that a session with me will feel casual and comfortable. You will not find me in a suit or sitting behind a desk. I want to provide a space that elicits the freedom to say whats on your mind without the fear of judgement. I like to think of myself and a client as a team pinpointing the clients desires while building a foundation for change.
