Therapist Overview
I help people talk about, have feelings about, confront and heal from difficult memories. PTSD stays alive because of avoidance β avoidance of thoughts, images, feelings, situations, places, things, experiences β that are painful reminders of trauma. In the short-term, avoidance is so beneficial β it makes us feel better in the moment and helps us get through the day. Over time though, avoidance isnβt helpful and keeps us from living life. Confronting what we avoid frees up a lot of energy and space to grow into the life and person we want to be. I also help folks with other challenges – check out my website for more information. I specialize in treating anxiety and trauma-related disorders. I received ongoing training from UW’s Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress and the Anxiety Center at Evidenced Based Treatment Centers of Seattle. I have extensive training, experience and expertise in providing evidenced-based cognitive behavioral interventions: CBT, TF-CBT, PE, CPT & DBT
