Therapist Overview
I have a passion for helping children heal from trauma and helping families overcome infertility. I utilize play therapy, expressive art, narrative therapy, and mindfulness to help clients connect to their strengths and resilience, understand their responses to trauma are normal, and create their preferred life story. At the nonprofit Families First, I serve children ages 3 to 21, their families, and adults. At the private practice of Tricia Anbinder LLC and with the Atlanta Fertility Support Alliance, I counsel women, men, couples and groups on the journey to create their families through IVF, adoption, foster care, or other ways. Sometimes we are stuck in loss, trauma, or heartbreak. We cannot see beyond it. I support adults to externalize problems (past abuse, infertility, depression, anxiety) and recognize their unique skills to cope and thrive. I support children and teens to use play, art, and talk to break free from hurts and stuckness and begin to feel whole, dream, and thrive. In therapy, I focus on your assets, not deficits. You are the expert in your life experience. I hope to collaborate with you, your child, or your family to explore the personal meaning that fills your stories, help you externalize problems, and uncover your unique skills as an individual, couple or family, so you may reach your goals, find joy, and thrive.
