Therapist Overview

Depression, shame, anger, fear, loss, and thoughts of death and dying are not friendly companions. Are they yours? Have you tried ‘coping skills,’ ‘self-help,’ meds? Some people try substance use and/or isolation. Others may have tried therapy, once or twice or a lot. The troublesome companions may go away for awhile, or they may persist. They menace and hold you back. They get in the way of what you want to accomplish in life, work, or play. If any of this sounds familiar, I hope you’ll consider my practice. People I have had the privilege to come to know deeply help me understand the experience of being human – including my own. I love being a psychotherapist not because it’s easy, but because it’s a practice that opens my mind and heart and sense of being. I’m an imaginative, creative person who’s interested in the dynamics of our interior lives. It’s the conflicts, complexities, and feelings beneath the surface that matter most in our relationships to ourselves
