Therapist Overview

Have you suffered the loss of a loved one? Have you experienced other kinds of losses? Relationship? Job? Health? Do you need help making sense of your life story? Are you and your partner struggling with your relationship? If so, please consider contacting me. I am an existentially-oriented counselor/psychotherapist who can help you explore issues of grief and loss and meaning in your life. When working with couples in crisis, I promote reconnection and healing by helping them focus on the emotional aspects of their relationships. My own experiences of loss have prepared me to work with the wide variety of loss and grief. My lifelong interest in intimate relationships has prepared me for working with the emotional substance between couples. In keeping with decades of research, I do not work from a model or specific theory. Instead, I focus on the healing therapeutic relationship. My own life has made me realize the importance of learning about and working with the losses in our lives. I have experienced my own losses and I was strongly affected by the losses involved with the HIV/AIDS epidemic. These experiences have prepared me to work with all the losses involved in our lives.
