Therapist Overview

I have 22 years of experience caring for patients from birth to 100 years of age. I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University Purdue University, earning my Bachelor of Science in Informatics with a cognate in Data Analysis and Chemi- Informatics, and later received my second Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University. I advanced my education by receiving my Master of Science in Advance Nursing Practice from Indiana State University. I worked in multiple practice settings including primary care, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and urgent care for the past ten years.

I am Board Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I’m also affiliated with the American Heart Association for BLS/ACLS/PALS training for healthcare providers and hold a membership with the American College of Nurse Practitioners.

I have accumulated extensive expertise across diverse domains, spanning from medical research and data analysis to specialized focus in cardiovascular health, and my current commitment to primary care. Throughout my professional journey, I’ve had the privilege of working in regions across Africa, including Ghana in West Africa, Tanzania in East Africa, and soon, Zambia. In these locations, I’ve had the opportunity to impart valuable training in first aid and CPR.

Prior to co-founding Compassion Virtual Health Care alongside my husband, Mr. Bryte Appasu, I dedicated myself to delivering primary care within a family practice context, while also providing psychiatric care to inpatients grappling with mental health challenges.

My top priority is always my patients’ well-being, and I strive to provide high-quality care that can improve their everyday life. I take a holistic approach to treatment, considering the individual needs and circumstances of each patient, and aim to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care. My treatment approach is Person-Focused, Emotionally Focused, Humanistic and Coaching.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I relish quality time spent with my family, exploring the literary world at the library, embarking on international adventures, and nurturing my passion for home gardening.
